School and year you graduated:
2001, from The School of Environmental Studies (or SES, or "The Zoo School" as everyone calls it because it's on the grounds of the Minnesota Zoo). Although my diploma was from Eagan High School, where I went my Freshman and Sophomore years. SES got its 400 students from 4 neighboring "home" high schools, and we were still officially designated under them. Public School system, BTW. Everything thinks it's private when I explain it *L*
Nickname in High School:
Fonia a bit. Just as an occasional joke.
Sport you were into:
Soccer. But not for school. I played in the city's league, had since I was 4 years old. I joined the school team my freshman year, but was put on the freshman team which practiced ALL THE FRIGGIN' TIME and was still the worst team I ever played with. We scored 3 goals all year, and one of them was by me from DEFENSE. Just to show how bad it was. Never played for school again.
Had a circle of friends:
Yessiree. Especially in my first high school (freshman and sophomore year). This school had 2000 students at the time, 2400 by the time I graduated. You had to have a circle of friends, or you were lost. Mine was "the Wall Group" *L* We met and sat by one wall/intersection on the second floor every day before classes. We actually got quite large, and I have very fond memories of it. At SES, with only 400 students, I was free to know everyone there better, but I still had a group of friends I normally hung out with.
Best subject(s):
Math. And Science.
Worst subject(s):
Spanish.
Teacher to whom you owe life lessons?
Everhart. And Hage. And most of my SES House teachers, but mostly those 2.
Describe in one word:
Freshman year: Depression
Sophomore year: Friends
Junior year: FUN (my favorite year)
Senior year: Stress
Best friend?
Kirsty first 3 years, then Katie senior year.
Cafeteria food sucked?
Eagan High? Varied. I have one very memorable experience of flipping over the "Mac and Cheese" bowl and by the end of lunch it still hadn't fallen out. SES was a bit better. Not as much selection, though.
Wore uniforms?
No way. Public school.
How was the prom?
Guh. Let's just say this: Never go to prom on a blind date. Seems obvious, eh? I was coerced into going with a friend's friend junior year. Bad experience, and $50 a couple just for the dance. Stayed well away from it Senior year. Way too overrated.
Who were the prom king and queen?
No clue.
Any achievements?
I guess. Got on the Honor Role a fair bit and got a few "letters", but don't take too much pride in that. I was conditioned to do well in school. Or else.
Were you popular?
No *LOL* Not the social butterfly. I was very introverted until about Junior year.
Best song that reminds you of high school?
By and far With Arms Wide Open by Creed. Senior year the English teacher showed us the music video and we picked it apart for symbolism. Cracked a few jokes about analyzing other music videos, such as The Thong Song: Beyond the Thong. Then was hanging around when she did it again with the next class. Had a great circle of friends, a great bunch of teachers. It's just all well represented by that memory, and it gives me warm fuzzies whenever I hear it. *L* I'm such a dork.
