Photoshop flowers

Yay, I made art! I was wandering around art sites searching for inspiration when I ran across Thia. It's been a while since I'd explored her art so I went all around her various sites, just boggling at her artwork. She's always been a huge inspiration for me, especially because she makes all her own resources and does everything herself, which is what I'm trying to move towards. So I opened up Photoshop and tried making a flower with the pen tool, which she does amazingly well. I was quite surprised at the outcome, since I'm not much of an artist when it comes to hand-crafting. But I'm incredibly proud of it, since I did it all in Photoshop without a single outside resource. Although of course it's hugely influenced by some of Thia's pieces.

There's also a wallpaper version on my site. Yay art! Whatever happened to my muse, I hope she sticks around for a nice long while.

Wow, Thats really, really pretty. Makes me wish I had the ability to do hand-craft art on the computer. I'm very impressed :D

Thank you! It's actually not as hard as I thought it'd be. I could always send ya Photoshop ;)

BTW, I love your icon! *L* That's so cute.

Wow, beautiful! :) I really like the colors you used in the whole piece! More! :D

Thank you! But the colors were just a lucky mistake. The leaves are just the petals on exclusion. *LOL*

Very nice! I'm envious of your accomplishment. I hadn't opened up Photoshop in *months* but I've recently been itching to do something "creative." The new SG-1 movie promos got me trying my hand again and now I've learned that Photoshop muscles atrophy miiiiighty quick.

Love the artwork and I grok your pride over doing it without using others' resources. I'd love to make my own resources and be able to make *pretty* things from them. Congrats on the pretty flowers. :D

Thaaaaaank you! I actually had the opposite experience - I hadn't done stuff like the pen tool and setting patterns in years, but it all came back really quickly once I set down to it. I DO know that if I try to force my muse, I look like a complete amateur again. *L* I hate being at the mercy of my muse.

And you could SO make your own stuff. If I can, you can. ;)

For some reason I can't see the picture in this entry (or your header anymore!) but I went to look at the wallpaper, and it's AWESOME! Niiice work! :D

The thrill of making something on your own, without anyone else's textures or brushes or anything, is really great. And yaaay, pen tool. :D I find the pen tool challenging but rewarding. Keep making stuff! I want to see more!! 1280x800 is my screen size, btw, if you ever feel like making widescreen desktops. *whistles innocently*

Bah. Thanks for telling me. I had them in my LJ scrapbook set to private. Can you see them now?

And thank you very much! I completely agree, the pen tool is very challenging, and that's what makes it so rewarding once you get it. I hadn't used it in a few years and I definitely had a learning curve in trying to remember how to use all the tools. *L*

It's beautiful :) Good job with the pentool.

Now I feel inspired too *g*

:) Thanky! Been a while since I've played with the pentool. I kinda missed it. *L*

And yes, make art! Make art! Hehe.
