Soooo....I rock. Very much.

hehe. No, seriously, after about an hour of tinkering, I figured out how to record off the TV with SOUND. My "New Ground" recording is pointless because of the lack of sound, and I didn't even record Atlantis for the same reason. So I decided I would figure out the problem today before the new episode airs. Turns out the sound never even got to the TV/VCR. It was routed out of the satellite box directly to the speakers. So I rerouted it to the TV with the DVD wires, and it worked. Yay! Good thing because I had to record it while I was at Howl Night, and they watched a movie after we got back. So I haven't even SEEN the episode yet (I'm going to watch it tomorrow), but now I know what I have to do to record all the new episodes. And I am a happy camper.

Wolf Park )

We had a meeting today about the delisting of the eastern Grey Wolves. The government wants to take the eastern population segment of wolves off the Endangered Species Act and the protection it offers. This means the wolves in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan will lose federal protection and have to fall under State Management, which often isn't as good. More importantly, the rest of the upper midwest and eastern states will have no obligation whatsoever to protect wolves that wander into their state, so that pretty much stops wolf expansion in its tracks. I don't know what to think about this at the moment...I've gotten so used to bad news regarding the environment it's hard to become worked up about it anymore.

Oh, and just for kicks...I fell in the latest trend and made some textures today. I'm going to wait until I've made some more before I upload them all, but I'm quite proud of my first 'experiments".
