Supernanny!

GAWD I love Supernanny. It's this show where this british nanny comes and shows helpless parents how to be better parents - how to discipline and play with their kids, and I LOVE it because it's all about behaviorism. Even the way the nanny deals with the parents is about behaviorism - supporting them and encouraging them when they do something right. It's great.

I really needed that because today was AWFUL. It started out by my alarm clock not going off. I was awakened by a call from the zoo asking where I was. I got in 25 minutes late. Tardies are a HUGE deal there and this one incident could have cost me any chance I have at getting the sea lion next year. I was devastated, which was really the straw that broke the camels back and I struggled not to break into tears the whole day just because of all these issues that have been building up and I just couldn't DEAL with it today. It was a really bad day. But I got home, had a wonderful phone call with my family, the housemate was surprisingly chatty and nice, and I had a nice long viewing of Supernanny. Thank god. I needed to end this day on a good note.
