On BBC America, right now...is Midnight. Eeeee! I adore that episode beyond reason. It's not generally a fan favorite, but it may just be my favorite episode of the series, in terms of watchability. It never gets old, no matter how many times I watch it. Of course it has two brief Rose mentions/glimpses, which adds that extra little squee factor, but it's so brilliant beyond that. All of the characters are so intriguing - I especially love the Professor and Dee Dee, and Jethro is amusing. The actress who plays Sky is just friggin' BRILLIANT; her scary vacant stare and the simultaneous talking absolutely makes for the creepiest effect of the whole show. On a shallow note, the Doctor of course looks drop-dead gorgeous (the HAIR! that...THING he does with his tongue!) and is so perfectly in character - cheery, excited, chatty, obliviously brainy, and just a little bit arrogant. I love that it's never really resolved - you don't discover what the monster was or what it wanted...because the real point of the episode was what made it so brilliant: an examination of what people are capable of when frightened, the internal struggle we hold within ourselves to balance our morals with our survival instincts. Guh! I could continue gushing about it, but I doubt anyone cares. Long story short, it's 45 minutes of enthralling television and I just had to share. ;)
