Fics are eating my brain

First off, new header! I made this for the header challenge at
xfiles, but it didn't win, so I'm using it! Heehee.
I went househunting today, as it was my day off. I'm looking to move into a new place in May, as the current rent is too high. One place in particular the people were really nice and friendly, and it's minutes from the Park, so I'm really excited about that. I just want to be sure that they have cable, because I forgot to ask and I can't live without my TV! Anyways, here's hoping it all works out.
I have a sh*tload of fics to review, both for ChronX and otherwise, but first, a little pimpage. *A-hem*
sg1_lims,
sg1_lims,
sg1_lims! I'm not too hot on LIMS, but
hsapiens is running it and I believe she will run the best darn LIMS anywhere, so come play! At least join and give feedback, because concrit makes the icon-maker's world go round.
Okay, on to the fics. First off, ChronX, Breakfast - Burning The Maps. It's been a while since I read these, so if they didn't stand out, I won't have much to say.
Breakfast - Ummm yeah. Post-Irresistable angst. Aaaaangst.
A Breath Between Us - I liked it. I really did. Of course, I'm a hopesless romantic and even though I shouldn't, I do get a thrill out of a marriage proposal.
Breathe - I'm not a baby!fic fan, so I'm rough on this one, but...it had its moments.
Breathe For Two - More aaaangst. And baby!angst, at that.
Breathing in Time - A short, relaxing feel-good. I liked it.
Bridge - Longer fic, yaaaay! I give this one two thumbs up. The visuals in this one stuck with me. Go read it now.
Brilliant Disguise - Ummm, okay. No comment. I guess it has some insight, but it was confusing.
Buffetted - A little too silly for me. But...it did leave me humming Jimmy Buffett.
Burden - A missing scene from the pilot. Yeah, REALLY, really old-school.
Burning in Heaven - Perhaps a little too schmoopy, but really sweet. I'm a sucker for cancer-fic.
Burning The Maps - Post-Col. Not one of my favorite genres.
I've been reading a lot for
xf_book_club, so these are mostly from there.
Five Years and One Night by Shalimar - Go read it now. Really. I read this back in the day, and it was just as much fun the second time around.
What Happens to the Dreamers by Buckingham - Another must read. Kind of like Parabiosis in that it's a filler for season 7; a look at the things we didn't see, specifically those related to Scully's attempt to get pregnant.
Night Song by Zuffy. A really qwirky all things fic. "The interesting thing is, this room may not really exist." It's so them!
Oil by Eodrakken Quicksilver - Definitely the most out-there fic I've ever read. I can't even describe it.
Stragers and the Strange Dead by Kipler - Not a lasting favorite for me, but definitely a fic with an unexpected twist!
And I think that is it...whew!

Date: 2008-04-18 02:36 pm (UTC)Yay for cheaper new place! Though honestly I'm amazed at the thought any residence could not have cable! Is that seriously common out west or something? My boyfriend's parents live in SoCal, and they don't have cable, but I assumed it was just cause their house was waaaaay out in the middle of nowhere, in the desert, where the nearest anything was an hour drive away.

Date: 2008-04-21 05:27 am (UTC)As for the housing, they do in fact have cable. It just didn't say so in the ad, which once I realized it kinda freaked me out (I cannot live without my teevee!).
