There is no order to this entry. Just to give you fair warning ;)
ZOMGZOMGZOMG I got an e-mail from the MN Zoo!!! My heart skipped a beat, then leapt into my throat when I saw it. I'm still under consideration!!! I'm so happy I could faint. I spent the day celebrating - by playing N64, watching 3rd Rock and Evan Almighty, and reading fic. ;) So, excellent, excellent news, but proof that the fight is far from over. The next step is to send in a DVD of myself doing "a live animal presentation". Luckily I already have a video of myself hosting a show, but it's in MiniDV format so I found a company that will transfer it to DVD and edit it to the 15-minute limit. It'll cost about $40. Blah. Anyways, the deadline for sending that in is SEPTEMBER 22nd, which gives me plenty of time to do that, but also means this process is going to be incredibly slow. This job ends Tuesday (eep!), so...I'm going to have a looooot of free time the rest of the month.
So, um, yaaaaaaaay! I was getting really depressed about my chances, and this was a badly-needed boost. Thank goodness.
Other rambly bits: Paid time expired and GOOD LORD I forgot how hard it is to pick just 6 icons to keep. On the fic front, I reached Dance Without Sleeping in my ChronX read-through today, and ended up reading it all over again even though I just re-read it a few months ago. I enjoyed it much more this time around, for some reason. Finished season 1 of Doctor Who with
balmyone and good lord, I'm hopeless. I was shipping Nine/Rose so bad by the end. I've been procrastinating starting season 2 because I want to bask in the beauty of that finale just a bit longer. I can't imagine transferring that feeling over to a new Doctor.

Date: 2008-09-04 03:23 pm (UTC)and b) dude, bask in the glow. s2 was awesome, but it also like, ripped out my heart and stomped on it. You need to watch it, but do it once you've WALLOWED in the wonder of s1.

Date: 2008-09-11 05:24 pm (UTC)b) thanks for the warning! I've become so cynical about ship, I EXPECT to have my heart ripped out and stomped on, and with s1 I think I was starting to fall into the trap of "oh, maybe they won't!" Pffahahaha!

Date: 2008-09-12 04:34 am (UTC)I'm not surprised you're not hooked on the show just yet. It took me a while to get into it. I actually think you'll like Bones more than The Office. But yeah, Jim/Pam is waay cute.
