Got the official e-mail today - didn't get any of the WAP trainer positions. I knew that anyway, thanks to my contacts inside, but it's still crap to confirm. So...I've now been rejected from my two top jobs in two months. More than still not having a job, that's just hell on the self-esteem.

Thank God there's a Doctor Who marathon on SciFi today.

Well, fuck.

Ok...well, I have a proposal for you, if you're interested. Trouble is, I can't go anywhere with it until Tim and I own some property. I need a partner. Not for the pet-sitting gig. That's just to provide seed money for the thing I really want to do. Start up a non-profit wildlife rescue/wildlife education org very similar to Wild Things. I need to get permits. I'll need help building enclosures, acquiring animals, and of course feeding and cleaning up after them. I'll need help training animals, acquiring crates, drumming up business, and performing educational shows. Like I said, it's not something that's going to happen now or even take off right away, but the offer is there if you want it. After paying for overhead, I can split the profits with you 50/50. So, think about it. Either way, I'm going to do this at some point, so don't be afraid to say no if you're not up to the risks. I'll let you know how things progress, and if you want to join in farther down the line, that's cool, too.

Well, fuck.

You put it so much more eloquently than I. ;)

You are too sweet, Jenn. I'm so excited for you to start up that business - Kris put the fear of God in me on that, but you seem to have everything so planned. :D I applied for an "interpretive naturalist" position at the MN Zoo today - not really what I want, but it's a start, and would give me that much-needed experience doing programs for school kids. Kids still make me nervous, you know that? *LOL* Anyways, I am still keeping your outreach in mind for the future - it would be so awesome to work with you.

Yes, when not known for my bluntness, I'm known for my eloquence. Ha. :D Good luck on the interpretive naturalist position (where do they come up with their job titles?).
