X-Files Meme!
1.- How old were you when you started watching the X-Files?
Fourteen. God, I can hardly believe that. I grew up with this show.
2.- What year was it?
Thanksgiving 1997.
3.- Which was the first episode you ever watched?
I can't remember the exact episode, but it was an FX marathon, which I know had "Home" in it, and ended with "Memento Mori".
4.- What season is it in?
Season 5 had just started at that point. "Post-Modern Prometheus" was the first ep I watched live.
5.- Which season have you not seen yet?
I've seen them all except, like, 2 episodes of season 9.
6.- Favorite season?
6, by far. Followed by 5, then 7 and 4.
7.- Least favorite?
9. Spork your eyes out bad.
8.- Which season do you not like at all?
Is this not repetitive? 9. There's all of, like, 3 things I liked about the entire season. The Trust No 1 trailer, the Truth kiss, aaaaand...Burt Reynolds in Improbable.
9.- Name 4 episodes that you could watch to death:
The Unnatural, How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, Bad Blood, and Monday.
10.- Name 3 episodes that you dislike:
Jump the Shark (I never forgave them for that), Travelers, Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man.
11. - Mulder or Scully?
God, don't ask me to choose. They are one entity, anyway ;)
12.- Shipper or Noromo?
Shipper, duuuuh.
13.- Favorite scene/moment?
Really? Just one? The Requiem snuggle.
14.- The scene you hated the most?
Trust No 1, "Dearest Dana". Oh, gag me.
15.- The scene that made you laugh until you thought you’d piss your pants?
Bad Blood. When Mulder started singing Shaft, I probably did piss my pants laughing.
16.- Most touching scene?
Ugggggh, so many. The Memento Mori scene where Scully tells Mulder she has cancer, probably.
17.- Favorite quote or piece of dialogue?
There's two bits my sister and I repeat together endlessly - the Shaft bit, and "Woman, get back in here and make me a sandwich." We taught our mom to say that one and laugh endlessly at her rendition of it.
18.- How do you call the show?
Confusing question. Ummm...well, I usually call it "XF" online.
19.- From 1 to 10, what would you give Fight The Future?
8. Love it.
20.- Do you understand all the Mythology?
Hell no. I remember listening to Chris Carter "explain the mythology" in the hidden FTF soundtrack track, and ending up even more confused. I understood some of it through about season 6...I COMPLETELY gave up in season 8 (as, apparently, did the writers).
21.- How did you feel when you heard that David was leaving the show?
Absolutely stricken. I could not imagine the show without him, and I could not imagine my life without the show. I know how to take what I've been given and appreciate what I have, now, but back then it just seemed unimaginable.
22.- What was your reaction towards John Doggett when he first appeared in season 8?
Apathy. I wanted to give him a chance, didn't want to hate him simply for not being Mulder, so I didn't hate him, but I didn't love him either.
23.- Did you hate him at any moment?
No. Pretty much apathy the entire way through.
24.- Did you ever consider they could have a relationship?
Scully and Doggett? Hell no. I trusted TPTB not to be THAT mean, which was about as far as I could trust them, really.
23.- What was your first impression of Monica Reyes?
(There's two 23s and 24s....huh). Stupid, as most people thought. The whale song thing? Completely idiotic. I grew to almost like her, later, but that first ep they did completely the wrong thing with her character.
24.- Doggett or Reyes?
What, choose? Probably Doggett, just barely. I actually slightly shipped these two for all of about about a month after "Audrey Pauley". You know what we were called? "Drippers". *L*
25.- Did you consider the return of Mulder in Season 8 necessary to kept the audience interested in the show?
Yes. That was practically the only thing holding the show together at that point, the prospect of getting Mulder back.
26.- Do you think that Gillian Anderson’s acting in the last 2 seasons managed to keep people interested in the show despite the lack of Mulder?
Frankly, no. As evidenced by the sharp decline in viewership.
27.- Did you think the William arc was necessary, or did you consider him part of one of those plot lines that should have never happened?
Completely idiotic, from the moment of conception. I violently rebelled against the idea when it was revealed in Requiem, and hated every single second of it.
28.- Why is that?
It's the stupidest plot device ever, because it is so completely evident as just that. They may as well go around calling the kid "Plot Device". And it's a HORRIBLE choice for plot device as you can never, ever, ever simply pull away from it. You are practically forced to stay on that plot forever.
29.- Were you okay with Scully giving him up for adoption?
I was split on this - so frickin' relieved they had finally got rid of the stupid kid, and thinking it was so completely wrong to ditch him like that. You can't just dump a kid when you realize it's a bad plot, yet they should never have done it to begin with.
30. Who’s your third favorite character?
Skinner, probably. Or, oooo, maybe Arthur Dales. Or Clyde Bruckman! Frick, I like so many of them.
31.- One character you never liked?
The Fowl one.
32.- Did you ever think that they would actually make a second movie after so long?
Not really. I hadn't given up all hope, but it still didn't quite dare to believe it when I first heard it was going ahead.
33.- Did you see the movie the day of the premiere?
Of course. Such an awesome day.
34.- What was your first impression while you were watching it?
I was flailing at frickin' EVERYTHING. It was all a little unreal.
35.- What was your reaction when you were done watching it?
Uhhhh...that's it?
36.- Did you watch it again in theaters?
What self-respecting Phile didn't?
37.- Did you buy it or did you downloaded it from a site?
Neither - I won it from Decemberlady! I need to thank her again for that. So awesome of her to do that.
38.- Did you like the title ‘I Want To Believe’ for the second movie?
Hated it. Still hate it. Seriously, worst title ever, Chris.
39.- If you didn’t like it, what else would you have called it?
Honestly, I got rather attached to "Done One". I would totally take that, even though it has no relevence to the plot.
40.- What has The X-Files meant for your life?
I can't even sum up in a few measly sentences the things XF has done to my life. Given me life-long friends, an artistic outlet, thrown me into the wonderful world of fandom...it is inextricably linked with my formative years, so has tendrils in almost everything. God, I'm waxing nostalgic, aren't I?
41.- Do you think it’s the best series you have ever seen?
Frankly, probably not, but in terms of what it has done for my life and TV in general, absolutely. I'd give it best love story, certainly.
42.-Do you want a third movie?
Yes, yes, yes, yes. Even if it sucks, it would be worth it for the CRAZINESS of anticipation and the re-awakening of the fandom.
43.- What would you call it?
No idea. But better than IWTB.
44.- Which character would you like to see in the third movie?
Mulder and Scully. Seriously, that's all I need. That's all the show has ever needed.
45.- What would you like this movie to be about?
2012. Really. Really really. Or if it's a MOTW, it has to be brilliant.
46.- Did you enjoy answering all this stuff?
Oh yes. Fangirling XF gives me such a warm glow.

Date: 2009-02-19 09:58 pm (UTC)OMG, the "Dearest Dana" thing has got to be the worst scene I have ever seen. I'm still shocked by how little TPTB knew their own ship.
Dude, it is embarrassing! I mean, I know I'm not alone, but it's not something you say aloud in polite company ;)
