Thank you, thank you, thank you Hart for putting Hodgins and Angela back together. Okay, well, not together (yet!), but definitely a huge step in the right direction. That made me so happy. I admit, my heart skips a beat every time Hodgins tells Angela he loves her. Every. D*mn. Time. I still love them, and I still want to see them together.
Aaaaaand, I quite enjoyed the rest of the episode, too. The first one in a while where I really want to go back and rewatch the entire thing all over again (instead of just select scenes). I'm really glad Angela isn't pregnant (as much as the idea is fascinating, pregnancy/baby storylines are a big, big no-no in my book...they hijack the character and you can't let it go when it gets old), and seeing Cam get all flustery over Michelle was really rather adorable. Hodgin's secret passageway = awesome. Sweets frantically whispering over the phone was hilarious, and Booth. Hehe, what can I say? He shot his gun a lot (immature giggle)...and he's HOT when he shoots a gun. Hehe. Plus the whole storyline with him being a sniper, and really not wanting to believe he could have been lied to, was really touching. As was the bombshell that he's descended from John Wilkes Booth. That's heavy. I love that he obviously told such a deep secret to Brennan at some point, and how hurt he is that she brought it up, and how desperate she is to fix it. Just...I loved it. Plus we got a HUG and, frankly, a really interesting case. Bravo, Hart Hanson, bravo. That's the show I want more of.

Date: 2010-01-22 10:40 am (UTC)I'd love to see Hodgins back with Angela. I think the whole pregnancy-scare sub-plot was a bit forced and obvious. Its only purpose was to get Hodgins to proclaim his love, and it had no real effect. Like a sitcom, where something happens, but doesn't really happen, so everything is the same again by the end of the episode. Tim and I felt the same about the main plot, as well. The authors got to write about what-ifs and nothing really got resolved, and nobody got in trouble, etc., etc. Basically, nothing but some one-liner comedy, a bit of showing-off on Booth's part, and some infinitesimal character development occurred. Not my favorite episode by far.

Date: 2010-01-23 08:23 am (UTC)I think it's funny that we had such different opinions on this episode. I actually was surprised the pregnancy scare was a false positive. During the episode I actually thought they'd continue with that storyline. Though of course that would be untenable, so I shouldn't have been surprised. But I actually thought this episode had more long-term developments than normal. Anyways, different strokes for different folks! ;)
Gaaaaaaah, I'm so behind on LJ. I'll catch up someday, I swear. Miss you :(
