memento1Yesterday we got surprise animal time. We got to go in with Bill, who as usual didn't approach anyone, and then Deneb. Because of their new restrictions, only Christen, Anya, and myself (who have been here longest) were allowed in with Deneb without a leash on. Then they put a leash on her and invited the rest in. Monty took photos, and today he gave us a burned CD of the pictures (that he'd taken with his spiffy new camera). All well and good except I'm not in them. Because when Christen, Anya, and I went in, Christen and Anya sat down on either side of Deneb, and I was left to sit by her rump. They have a string of wonderful photos of them petting Deneb together, and I never even got to touch her.
Ugh. I sound like a whiney kid, but that really pissed me off. I'd really, really like a picture of me with a wolf, and I missed my chance because they only cared about getting their own chance. Ugh, I gotta stop whining.
There's 9 people in the house now. Over the course of 2 days we got 2 more practicums and an intern, so now we're almost at maximum capacity. We're not as tight-knit (especially as some of the practicums won't do anything to help us run the park), but it's definately fun when we have a group activity!
So today the wolves get watermelons. This morning we emptied out watermelons and stuffed them with treats, which the wolves and foxes will get later in the day. Today will be very very busy. I'm excited. I was in charge to cutting up spam, and we all stuffed ourselves with watermelon as we went. It was starting out as a wonderful day until we got that CD of pictures. But I've gotta stop concentrating on what I don't have and concentrate on what I do. Summary and maybe pictures later!
