Me and Schmoo! Schmoo's our California Sea Lion, who I'm determined to get assigned to next year. She's the smartest animal at the zoo and training her would be a dream come true. We'll see. Animal assignments don't start until next spring.
For now, I have my hands full with Buddy and Babs (the raccoon and rabbit, respectively). Here's Buddy:

Isn't he cute? So smart, too. He even knows how to unscrew bottle tops. And then I guess I never showed you guys this picture:

Julietta the emu has been at the zoo since she was a day old and loves coming around on walks with the students. I love it because she's as tall as I am but she's got the smallest little brain. She's always got her big eyes wide open and her mouth gaping so it looks like she's confused by everything, which she probably is. *L* The poor little thing has to check and make sure the shadows won't jump out at her. So cute.
That's all for now. Things are going well here; not much to report. I'm trying to get caught up on my friends list but it's a long and arduous task.
Oh! Of course! I finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! I cried all throughout the last few chapters. Even though I had been spoiled for Dumbledore's death (the hazards of being a Creative movie mod), I was still shocked by it. I'm a little...off-put by the fact it was Snape who did it. I always wanted to believe he had some goodness inside, because I don't believe anyone is ever truly evil. Oh, and Ginny and Harry? Ummm...not really my thing. I wasn't crazy about Cho either, but I just do not feel any sparks fly with this ship. In any case, I was hooked the entire way through, which is a wonderful feeling. I haven't been that into a book since Book 4 (OotP was way too depressing for me. I'm glad this book didn't follow the same way). Ron and Hermione? I kinda dig this ship ;) so it was fun to see the obvious tension. hehe. Overall, 2 thumbs up! I was very happy with it.
My only problem is now I have no desire to read anything but book 7! *L* Maybe I'll reread the entire series again. Because any other book just couldn't keep me occupied like these do. Yaaaaay, Harry Potter!

Date: 2005-10-18 10:22 pm (UTC)I haven't read book 6 yet. I read 3, 4, and 5 in about two weeks and I got a little bit of book burnout. Plus I want to save it for the time in between Goblet of Fire is released and book 7 is out. *wonders if she's weird for rationing out HP*
Ginny/Harry is weird to me. I know she's only supposed to be, like, a year younger than Harry, but strangely she seems much, much younger than that. Maybe because I keep thinking of the movie actress who comes off as way younger than Dan Radcliffe. And so it seems squickish. Plus, I don't like Ginny much on the whole... she just doesn't seem to be that well-rounded of a character to me. I find myself mostly bored by her.
Ron/Hermione is cute. But I also think Harry/Hermione is cute. I really don't have a preference either way. So I'll probably just go along with canon, which is apparently Ron/Hermione! :) Eee, this is making me want to read book 6 now. *lol*
