Today was Lounge-around-in-my-PJs Day, which was so nice after yesterday. I had to go in to work an hour later than usual, which put me smack-dab in the middle of the worst of LA traffic. It took me 2 hours to go the 37 miles in to work. Ugh. Anyways, lots of interesting TV this week.
House...was forgettable. What happened? Oh, that's right, Foreteen drama. Snoooore. Idol is always fun, but this stage of the competition is my least favorite, with all the drama. Group night in particular is painful. Oh, but the really nerdy guy with the hilarious routine? AWESOME. He's not the best singer, but MAN has he got stage presence. I'm also starting to pick out a few favorites...like Danny and that one kid from Hollywood with the crazy hair. What next? Lost! Ummmm...
duva, you've been a bad influence. Now I can't stand the Jack/Kate storyline. Of course, the Jack/Sawyer/Kate love triangle got old a long time ago. Seriously, just stop it. But what really pissed me off was they had an entire episode about the Oceanic Six and only showed Hurley once. Moar Hurley, please. Bones...oh, Bones. They know how to play me like a violin. Let's just say I loved the Corporal Parker guy. He was a great character.
You're stranded on a desert island. The upside? You have a fancy solar-powered iPod that can play video. The downside? You can only choose five episodes (maximum of one hour in length) from five different TV shows.
There are rules: choosing an episode that's only a half-hour long doesn't allow you any more room, and you can't give up one show to make room for a two-parter from another. You have to choose five different shows, and you're only allowed one episode from each.
1. X-Files, "Bad Blood". This was hella hard, but when it comes down to it, this episode never, ever, ever gets old.
2. West Wing, "17 People". This was West Wing running on all 4 cylinders. Ship, humor, angst, and that powerful ending only West Wing could do.
3. Doctor Who, "Doomsday"? Ergh. I want to pick a feel-good episode like "The Satan Pit" or a brilliant one like "Midnight", but the truth is I think "Doomsday" is the most powerful episode, so...yeah. The last 10 minutes kills me dead, plus it has the 3-D glasses, so it's not all blubbering despair and heartbreak.
4. Stargate SG-1, "Window of Opportunity". Pure genius. Humor, ship, AND an interesting storyline.
5. Going way out on a limb, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Episode 2x22. Nothing can make me laugh like this show. Almost any episode would do, but since I have to pick one, this one has this gem.
Aaaaaand, I haven't been able to keep up with the flist lately. What's up?

Date: 2009-02-06 05:56 am (UTC)I don't watch Idol, and I'm lost on Lost. I used to really like that show, but two years of very little TV thanks to EATM kind of pushed me away from that series. You have to keep watching it to stay involved.
I LOVE Bones! Such a great show. What a great episode, too! Even though I don't buy into all that paranormal crap. :) Very touching story, tho.

Date: 2009-02-06 07:05 am (UTC)I have to say, House and Wilson is my favorite dynamic on the show, too. They're trying way too hard to hook everyone up with everyone else. It just got so tiring after a while.
I hang out with Krista a lot and she got me hooked on Lost right after I left EATM. But I've been keeping up with it and I'm still lost. Actually, I probably wouldn't watch anymore except they've dragged me this far, I just have to know how it ends. But I lost my fascination with that show a while ago.
Bones is definitely the show I look forward to most every week. I friggin' love Brennan.
I miss our coffee chats! *whines*

Date: 2009-02-11 06:43 am (UTC)I finally saw Yuki at Playboy the other day! We never worked a day together and I was so thrilled we finally did. Yuki's awesome. On Sunday it was me, Yuki, and Alissa (one of our second years) working, so it was like a little Moorpark reunion. We talked for far too long about Friday and Cyrano and the rest. Hee!

Date: 2009-02-06 02:06 pm (UTC)Agreed. I liked that Booth's brother stepped up and showed some character in this episode too. I have a feeling we are going to see some significant B and B action before this season is over. The writing is on the wall!
Sorry I've been a bad LJer friend. *hangs head in shame*
Your Playboy mansion job sounds wicked cool though. <3

Date: 2009-02-13 08:35 pm (UTC)I think that every season, and then they never do. I'm personally of the opinion they're going to drag this as far as it will go (they learned from the best...d'oh).
Hey, I haven't been the best friend either. I'm just glad you're still here! *clings*
And it is still surreal working there at times. *L*

Date: 2009-02-06 03:50 pm (UTC)Bones, however, was totally awesome! I'm glad we got a resolution to the Gravedigger case, finally. And lots of Booth backstory, which was nice. I liked ghost!Parker. I definitely feel like they're building up to something huge with Brennan and Booth. Booth is totally on the cusp of admitting how he feels. Asdjkfds. This show just is my total crack addiction, I love it to death.
Ooh, I'm going to have to steal that meme. Good X-Files and SG-1 picks. :D Also, yay, Whose Line! That show is so funny.

Date: 2009-02-13 08:41 pm (UTC)Every episode I hope is the one Booth breaks and admits it (it's totally gonna be Booth first, you know it is), but I EXPECT them to drag this on for another few seasons. Bah. This show is crack. I was SO disappointed there was no new ep last night (I haven't been keeping track of when new eps air, I just sit down Thursday night hoping for it).
I've totally gotten back into Whose Line lately. Only they NEVER air it. Thursdays is it, it seems. Well, Wednesdays too, but up against Lost and American Idol, so I can't watch it.

Date: 2009-02-06 05:21 pm (UTC)My husband and the girls love the show... I usually try stay away, till closer to the end of the competition so as not to get attached to too many people that are bound to get their dreams crushed.. but somehow I seemed to have already gotten sucked into caring one way or another (really didn't like bikini girl)
"Bones...oh, Bones. They know how to play me like a violin."
Loved the angsty bones.. also loved seeing the "rational scientist" brain the the baddie with a briefcase to the head. *g*
